Animal Hide-and-Seek

I decided to put together a small world play using a left over orange crate, yarn, and animals.  I put brown yarn for soil and blue yarn for water.
It started out looking so pretty…

But, it didn’t take long for all the animals to get lost in all the yarn…oops!

Then it just turned in to a Find the Animals Game!

Talk about a great fine motor and problem solving activity!  It talks a lot of problem solving to get all those animals untangled!

This activity didn’t end up the way I expected it to…which happens a lot!  But, it turned out to be a fun activity for him, and one that I’ll probably do again.

  1. Ohhh this is a great idea - I love the different textures you have not just between different wools (I love wool BTW) but also with the animals and the plants and rocks.

Thank you for linking up to Kids Co-op this week

  2. i love this idea. Did you try and salvage the wool after or did you just write it off as too tangled to deal with! (I actually have two types of yarn in my house - stuff I love and am waiting to be inspired to do something with and stuff I don't give two hoots about which is unfortunately the more boring less textured wool which I would be more inclined to let Goblin play with)

    1. I did not try to salvage it...it was a tangled mess! I have pretty large yarn stash that J can not play with. However, I have a decent amount of yarn that I use for projects with him.
