Day One: Jell-O and Ice Sensory Tray
I found some heart shaped ice cube trays in the Dollar Spot at Target (one of my favorite places for kids things). I made some red heart ice cubes by adding a little bit of red food dye to the water before freezing. I also made some raspberry flavored jell-o hearts. I put them all together in a sensory box, handed him a spoon, and let him have at it.
Some of the jell-o hearts didn’t come out of the molds very well…boo. Oh well, he didn’t seem to mind!
This was a fun activity to talk about the color red, the slimy jell-o, and the cold ice hearts.
It also tasted pretty darn good too!
Come back tomorrow for more Valentines Day fun!

ReplyDeleteHi! I am visiting from TGIF! I love the idea of the ice and jello sensory bin. I have the same heart mold in my sensory bin to use for sorting, but I need to pull it out to use in the kitchen! Thanks for the ideas!
